I can't remember how many times I've been here, but everytime I come to london, Buckingham is a place I wouldn't miss.

I'm madly in love with Britians' history, ( which is one of the reason I choose to complete my master studies) and visiting historical places is one way to indulge myself in the past stories.

bp%20map%2009.jpg   As u can see, Buckingham is surrounded by parks, the nearest tube station would be St James Park, on the District or Circle line.

The reason I choose to visit this palace so soon after I arrived here, is not of it's spectacular furnishing, but of the special display of the wedding dress which was worn by the duchess of Cambridge on her wedding day. (More detail of the wedding dress can be found below)

Visiters can also watch the exchange of the guards from outside on the following dates:

July - daily
August - odd numbered dates (1, 3, 5, etc.)
September - even numbered dates (2, 4, 6, etc.)
October - even numbered dates (2, 4, 6, etc.)
November -  odd numbered dates (1, 3, 5, etc.)

DSC02864.JPG  this pic was taken six years ago, I didn't get to see it this time....

Upon arrival, I went directly to collect the tickets which was booked online ( I would strongly advise everyone to pr-oder your tickets, for it could really get crowed!!)

IMG_6546.JPG  Disply of pics of some rooms would be at the entrance, and your bags and belongs would have to go through a x-ray like the ones you see in air-ports to be sure you don't bring dangerous stuff inside the palace.

Visitors aren't allowed to take pics inside the palace, so no photos to show here, altough I think it's best to visit from July~summer, for I think and re-call that visitors do get to see more of the palace, including the private apartments where the royal family lives during summer time.

I only got to see a few drawing rooms, gallary and grand halls this time.....

After visiting the state rooms, you come to the garden on the back of the palace, where you can have a cup of coffee or tea at the garden cafe.

Below are more details about the wedding dress:

From TV, it's hard to see how elegant and exquisite this dress is.....I totally didn't like the dress when I first saw it on the news.

But after seeing it in real...my god, what a master piece this dress is (including the shoe and earings along)

What attracted me about this dress was not just the individual flowers which have been hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a unique and organic design, (which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock), but of the design combining tradition and modernity.

Did you know that the ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry?

There was also a special design on the skirt, which made the open flower look exacally how it should look it no matter which way the Kate turned!

The wedding cake was made by Fiona Cairns, a businesswoman who has gone from kitchen table baking to selling her creations to the country’s best-known stores.

Kate especially liked to use the language of flowers in her wedding surroundings, therefore, the cake itself also included, below was quoted from the websit.

Flowers featured on the cake
(Kate gave detailed instructions to include 17 different blooms and foliage for their meaning or symbolism – known as the “language of flowers”)

The wedding shoe, is also covered with lace, same handcraft as the wedding dress

The oak nut in the earings presented the coat of arms which was created for the reunion of both family.
